Meeting Minutes Military Order of the Purple Heart General Daniel Bissell Chapter 125
Date: Sunday, April 20, 2008 Time: 2:00 PM
Location: American Legion Post 400, 2 Old Gravois Rd., Fenton, MO 63026
Meeting was called to order at 1415 by JVC Frank Casson Acting Chaplain, Ralph Riley, Finance Officer, gave the invocation. Pledge of Allegiance recited. Roll call of Officers, absent or excused: Cmdr., Sr. Vice Cmdr., Welfare Office, Chaplain, Asst. Chaplain, JAG New member: Tony DeBello
Minutes from the last meeting read and approved.
Finance Officer Report by Ralph Riley. Trustees Bill Ball and Nick Brooks had audited the books. On hand: Finance Report approved as read, subject to audit.
Membership Report by Sid Staton: Membership currently 157.
Welfare Committee: Send card to Chapter Cmdr.
Unfinished Business: None
New Business Jr. Vice Cmdr. Frank Casson read a letter about sending members to the MOPH State Convention. Question: Do we want to place an advertisement in Convention publication. Motion made and carried to donate $75.00 instead of placing an ad, in the interest of time. Bill Ball gave an up-date on the Website. Membership form on Website. Feedback is positive. Adjutant, Sid Staton spoke of the “Welcome Home” celebration for the OIF/OEF veterans to be held Saturday, May 17 2008 at the Soldiers’ Memorial in St. Louis. The Chapter will have an information booth at this event. Bill Ball suggested that the chapter put out a flyer to announce that the Chapter will pay for Lifetime memberships until June 30, 2008. Motion made and passed to pay for the Lifetime memberships for OIF/OEF lifetime memberships until June 30, 2008. A member spoke about the Chapter entering the roster of the Veteran (IntelVets) organization and made the motion to donate $100.00. Motion passed.

Good of the Order Jeff Fink informed the Chapter of the Memorial Day Service at Jefferson Barracks. Also he spoke of working with veterans in a PTSD group at Jefferson Barracks and what changes are trying to emerge in the treatment of PTSD. Sid informed the Chapter of the change in the NSO office. Ralph Riley read the benediction. Meeting adjourned at 1540.
Next meeting: May 18, 2008 @ 1400.
