Patriots I, as Ben Franklin said, I have taken up the pen to write, and we all know the pen is mightier than the sword, right! The convention is behind us and the Organization is starting to pull together as never before, I believe this is one of the best conventions I have been to (and I have attended 5). First item of business is the Executive council (which consists of all Chapter Commanders and their Officers). I have tasked Bud Whyte to designate a place and he told me he was leaning towards the Fort Wood area, relax Fort Wood, it does not have anything to do with you, nor do you have to spend any money. Ha! We will probably have it at Ryan's on a Saturday; the E.C. meeting typically takes about 2-3 hours. Time well spent with your Patriot Friends. We will firm this up for early October. The Fallen Warrior program is gathering speed, as I speak the invitations will go out today and we will start to get RSVP’s soon. I am anticipating some 70 families and over 900 guests. The information is provided on the Missouri website. St Louis is funding the cost for the Plaques and at 40 some dollars each you can see that is quite an undertaking. Thanks to St Louis, Chapter 125. This event has taken a life of its own and is becoming very difficult to manage, but being former US Navy it is not outside my span of control. Thanks to all who have helped. This promises to be a very big event in Branson. As most you are aware there is a push to become electronically motivated. This email is being sent to all Chapter Commanders that have email addresses. If not, I have sent to your next in Command. Since the State Operates on a very low budget, these types of messages to the Missouri Commanders will be help in that way. Please feel free to return the favor. Also check the Missouri website for updated information because the webmaster there does a fantastic job of keeping us posted on the latest. I have been receiving a tremendous amount of what I call bogus emails. These emails are designed to anger and confuse the voting public. Always check out the email by going to www.snoops.com . They seem to be on top of this. Or you may call me. The Springfield Chapter 621 had a booth at the Ozarks County Fair this year. I had a chance to participate and at latest count over 250,000 people went by the booth, one more way to get exposure for your chapter before the public. Great Job at the Fort area, those people are going great guns (no pun intended) they will, if they continue, be the largest chapter in the State. GOOD JOB to all concerned. I will be using this type of vehicle for all future correspondence to the Chapters, If You desire snail mail, contact me and I will oblige. Until next time, Warmest regards, Carl D.
